Finalists Compete for Street Works Industry Awards

27th November 2008


NJUG, the National Joint Utilities Group, has announced the finalists for the 2008 NJUG Awards, which recognises excellence within the street works industry.

The prestigious event will be hosted by Theresa Villiers MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, with a closing speech from Paul Clark MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport.

The awards are designed to recognise, promote and reward best practice from utility companies and contractors within the street works industry. The Finalists, selected by an impartial judging panel, were short listed from entrants across the UK and the winners will be announced at the NJUG Winter Reception on 2nd December 2008.  

The event is kindly being sponsored by Virgin Media who will also be speaking and will be held at the Atrium Restaurant in London.

 

Each award represents a point from the NJUG Vision for Street Works and each entry had to provide a case study demonstrating their delivery of:

 

NJUG CEO, Richard Wakelen, said: “The submissions represent case studies of best practice in the street works industry, from both NJUG members and non-members.  Utilities and contractors have made significant achievements this year and the awards are a great opportunity to recognise this.”
